What is eBay doing about it?

As we all know, there are tons of software that can be downloaded for free and burned as an iso file on USB or DVD. They could be windows iso, fix it utilities, password finder, keyfinder and the likes. To name a few, copies of Windows OS listed as a repair or emergency disc. These freeware are selling by the thousands on eBay. We at iSmart Innovations have nothing against this. If people are buying it, then it is what it is. This kind of thing has been going on for years on eBay.

What motivated us write this blog?
We always felt funny about this but after many years looking at these windows repair utilities and other freeware that is easily downloaded online, we made a decision to give it a try since the market is very hot. Nowadays, when you buy a laptop or desktop, you don't get an installation media. So we looked at many listings and thousands are sold everyday. You name it, it is on eBay. So we went ahead and listed several windows boot disc on USB and DVD. We got a lot of hits and many people bought. We figured, this is all legit because many sellers are selling them.

What happened next?
One day we received a listing violation message from ebay and all our windows boot disc listings have been removed. I immediately called eBay customer support and they transferred me to the listing team. I asked why thousands of sellers are selling the same thing and their listings are still around. According to the listing team support, it just happened that I got caught like speeding on the freeway while others are getting away with it. I tried to reason with them because this is some form of injustice. Like in my mind, why is eBay allowing others to make money and they are preventing me to do so. The answer I got is that there are thousands of similar software listed daily and they cannot keep up with it. I ran into a site about a lawsuit Tiffany VS eBay. It was mentioned on that site that Tifanny offered a solution far more effective than the way it is being done which will prevent bad sellers that sell fake and counterfeit items.
What about open source like LINUX?
The eBay listing team had no clue when we asked about this and they said it also violates eBay policy.But the same situation is happening. They are all over eBay. If you are familiar with open source such as Linux, it is perfectly legal to share or sell Linux. Open source is about freedom but not necessarily free. For more information just google it.

Read this before buying screen protector from VIEWGUARD.

 We bought a laptop screen protector from viewguard, got it and was the wrong size. Sent it back with signature and tracking. No other way to contact this company but through live chat. After live chat, they send you an automated email that has nothing to do with the issue. It has been close to 5 months, many live chats, nobody has ever responded, no refunds. The worst company online. Do not deal with viewguard. They don't care about customers.

Heat strengthened glass is produced by heating the glass and then rapidly cooling it with air. The resultant glass is thermally strengthened and approximately 2 times stronger than a piece of annealed glass.
Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner part is in tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
Many sellers and buyers of cell phone screen protectors may not be aware of this. More times than not, a factory from overseas will give a customer the price they want and just label a non-tempered glass " tempered glass" to make the sale.Extremely price driven folks are the ones that get in to this situation.
And lastly, they all say “tempered glass” and that is not always true. Heat strengthened glass will not protect your LCD screen. 
Bottom Line is, if it is not a real tempered glass on your phone right now, it will not protect your screen and it is also not safe. See Picture Below!

SD CARDS - There is a big reason why we decided not to sell these products although the market is very hot right now. First of all, thousands of seller online are selling them ridiculously cheap. Based on eBay pricing, we went ahead and contacted several manufacturers overseas. We received quotes that were really cheap and really expensive. To make a long story short, we have made contact with one very honest salesperson and this is what we found out. There are 2 types of SD CARDS sold everywhere. The most common one is what the manufacturer told us is the "upgrade version". The upgraded version is tweaked to show a higher capacity than it actually has. It will show 32GB but real capacity is 8GB. Not only that it is fake, it will also crash after it reaches its limited capacity and the seller gets away with it because buyers have already left a good feedback ( ebay ) before it crashed. They also have fake brands such as Samsung and the likes. Not only that these are sold on eBay, They are all over AMAZON. Buyers also will blame the quality of the product instead because they did not know it was fake.

Are you kidding me? 8 dollars for 32GB? Many of Them have the LOGO of name brands.
Your best bet is to get it direct from real distributors or the manufacturer's site.

After so many test samples ranging from 2600mah to 20000mah, we have concluded that 5000mah is the sweet spot for tablets and cell phone users. It is inexpensive and would rather get a true capacity than a fake high capacity. A decent external charger should deliver between 70 to 85 percent of its capacity depending on temperature and other factors. They will never do 100%. Some sellers and manufacturers claim a 92% conversion rate. We doubt if this is true in the real world

Fake 50,000mAh ~= 25x AA size rechargeable battery (assuming 2,000mAh - 2200mAh each per battery).Now, picture the size of a single AA battery and multiply by 25. Then picture how the size of the chassis should be.If they use li-polymer and if it is even close to being a real capacity, several manufacturers we have spoken to believe that this 50000mah capacity is way too high and your phone could explode. So, Many of them are also fake.Stay away from these. We have seen 150000mah as well. Ridiclous!
We have bought and tested a 50000mah from eBay at the price of 29 dollars but lo and behold it only delivered 10% of its capacity. So, we got a 5000mah for 29 dollars.If the price is too good to be true, then it probably is! These fake powerbanks are all over amazon as well.
